Powell Company Scheduled to Launch Three New Kids Furniture Groups at High Point Market

Powell Company is going to present its new PowellKIDs youth groups at the High Point market in North Carolina that begins April 25, 2009. Powell will come up with creative activities for kids and dealers to highlight each group at the National Building showroom.

The three new kids furniture groups include the Artsy Craftsy, Cliff Hanger, and Rock and Roll collections which are designed to satisfy the varying tastes of teens and tweens.

The Artsy Craftsy is a line extension of the Little MissMatched collection which includes 10 pieces of clean-lined, contemporary furniture. This collection is created with eco-friendly wood in a light finish with bold, asymmetric strokes. This group is especially made for tweens, which, according to Powell, is the fastest growing demographic in youth furniture. It will be introduced by local children on Saturday, April 25, starting at 11 a.m.

The Cliff Hanger, on the other hand, is designed for active young boys and girls. Its bed frame is styled like a rock climbing wall where kids can climb up and slide down to wear themselves out before they finally go to sleep. These merits will be introduced by young boys and girls on April 25.

The Rock and Roll collection has a "band on the road" design which caters to tweens and teens. It features a textured matte black finish that looks like sound equipment cases, ready for a road trip. The collection includes a rolling cart similar to an amplifier and a storage bench that can be converted into a media stand with wire management intended for today's plugged in kids.

Powell Company will host a Rock the Wish campaign, a Wii Guitar Hero competition, to keep abreast with the tuneful theme. Powell will encourage retailers to take up the headbanger responsibility for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, a nonprofit organization, who aims to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Powell will donate $25 to the foundation for each successful Wii axe strumming.

The PowellKIDS Rock and Roll Wall of Fame will display photos of participating dealers channeling rock prodigies including Hendrix. Powell worked with Make-A-Wish Foundation last year to create a network wherein retailers from all across the country will be able to fulfill furniture-specific wishes through local Make-A-Wish chapters. So far, more than 30 Powell dealers are participating in the program and three wishes have already been granted.

According to Tom Lidell, Powell Company's senior vice president for national sales, Powell is devoted to providing fresh products to dealers in one of the most important and profitable furniture categories today. "Even in tough times, average families with two to three kids need to graduate them from cribs to bunks to student desks and storage units. This represents huge sales potential for our customers," says Lidell.

Wholesale Furniture Brokers offers an assortment of Powell kids furniture at very low prices, including the Little MissMatched collection. You can order Powell's new youth collection at GoWFB.com as soon as they are available.
